AircallBeta
Connect the Aircall account your team uses. Its texts, calls, and voicemail then arrive in the CommSync inbox.
Aircall
Bring the numbers of your Aircall company into your CommSync inbox.
Closed beta
Aircall is in a closed beta. Ask CommSync support to turn it on for your workspace.
Aircall is a cloud phone platform. When you connect it, you keep your Aircall numbers, your Aircall plan, and the Aircall app. CommSync reads the texts, calls, and voicemail on the lines you pick, and it threads them by contact next to your email. A reply you send from CommSync goes out through Aircall, from the same number, and it shows in the Aircall app as well.
Phone providers explains what every connection does. This page adds what Aircall does differently.
Before you start
- Aircall Admin role
- Any Aircall plan with Sign in with Aircall
- The Aircall Professional plan to send texts with an API key
- Aircall AI Assist for call transcripts and summaries
Good to know
- Texts appear from the moment you connect, because Aircall does not share older texts.
- Calls from the last 6 months come in after you connect.
- CommSync sets up live updates in Aircall for you, so you do not paste a webhook URL.
- Texts that you send through Aircall from CommSync cannot carry pictures.
- A US line sends texts only after its A2P 10DLC or toll-free registration is approved in Aircall.
Who can connect Aircall
You need the Admin role in Aircall. Only an Admin can approve the CommSync app or make an API key.
- Sign in with Aircall sends texts on any Aircall plan.
- With an API key, CommSync sends texts only on the Aircall Professional plan. On a lower plan your texts still arrive.
- Native mode only. CommSync cannot read a line that runs in “skip Aircall inbox” mode.
Connect Aircall
Open Settings → Phone numbers and pick Aircall. The setup page offers two ways in.
Sign in with Aircall
The recommended way in. It takes one click, and CommSync sends texts on any Aircall plan.
Click Sign in with Aircall
The Aircall sign-in page opens. Sign in with your Aircall Admin login if Aircall asks.
Click Authorize
Aircall asks you to let CommSync read your calls and texts. When you approve, CommSync comes back and reads the lines of your Aircall company.
Use an API key
Use this way in when you cannot approve an app in Aircall. CommSync sends texts with an API key only on the Aircall Professional plan.
Sign in to the Aircall Dashboard
Open Integrations › API keys
Click Generate API key
Name the key CommSync.
Copy the API ID and the API token
Aircall shows the token only once.
Click Confirm
Paste the API ID and the API token into CommSync
CommSync checks them with Aircall before it saves anything, and it stores them encrypted.
Finish in CommSync
Pick the lines
CommSync lists every Aircall line. Pick the ones you want in your inbox. Each line counts as one channel on your plan, and so does the account.
CommSync sets up live updates
CommSync registers its own webhook in your Aircall account, so you paste no URL. The webhook appears in Integrations under the name CommSync. Leave it there.
Choose how much call history to import
Aircall shares six months of calls. Pick a window, or pick none. Aircall shares no past texts at all, so your text history in CommSync starts at this moment.
Your Aircall lines now show in Settings → Phone numbers, each with the Aircall mark. New texts and calls arrive in your inbox within seconds. The calls of the window you picked come in over the next minutes. Use Aircall in CommSync shows what you can do next.

| What | Direction | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Texts | Both ways | One to one and group. A text an agent sends in the Aircall app also lands in CommSync. |
| Delivery state | Inbound | A text shows Sent first, then Delivered or Failed. |
| Pictures you receive | Inbound | CommSync downloads the file and keeps it on the message. |
| Calls and voicemail | Inbound | With the recording, the outcome, and how long the call ran. |
| Call transcripts | Inbound | With Aircall AI Assist. CommSync reads the transcript when Aircall says it is ready. |
| Call summaries | Inbound | With Aircall AI Assist. |
| Contact names | Inbound | A name you keep in Aircall fills an unnamed number in CommSync. |
| Call history | Inbound | Six months, once, after you connect. |
Calls and voicemail
- Calls. Aircall reports each finished call, and CommSync shows it as a row in the conversation.
- Voicemail. Aircall sends its own transcript. CommSync waits up to 10 minutes for it, then writes one with AI.
- Call transcripts. Aircall shares a transcript of a recorded call.
- Call summaries. Aircall shares an AI summary of a call.
- Recordings. A call row carries its recording, when Aircall kept one.
AI Assist gives call transcripts and call summaries. Without it, CommSync writes the voicemail transcript itself.
See calls and voicemail for how a call reads in the inbox.
Limits
-
Pictures you send: none. Aircall does not let CommSync send pictures.
-
Group replies: a reply in a group conversation goes to every member as one text.
-
No text history. Aircall shares no way to list past texts. Your texts start the moment you connect.
-
No pictures on the texts you send. Aircall accepts text only from another app.
-
A picture you receive still arrives. CommSync downloads it and keeps it on the message.
-
A group text holds 9 recipients and the line itself, which is the Aircall maximum.
-
A text is at most 1,600 characters.
-
A group text shows the worst state. Aircall reports each recipient on its own. When one recipient does not get the text, the message shows Failed and names that number, even when the others got it.
-
A contact that another Aircall integration made stays out of the Aircall API. Its name does not reach CommSync.
-
CommSync skips WhatsApp. A WhatsApp conversation in Aircall stays in Aircall.
When something needs your attention
The account card in Settings → Phone numbers shows the state of the account, and each error names the one thing to do.
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Reconnect needed, after an Aircall Admin removed the app | Someone removed the CommSync app from Aircall, so CommSync can no longer read the account. | Open the account card menu, choose Edit credentials, click Sign in again, and approve the CommSync app in Aircall. |
| Reconnect needed, on an API key account | Aircall no longer accepts the API ID and the API token. | Make a new key in Integrations → API keys, then reconnect. |
| A send says the plan blocks it | On an API key account, a send from another app needs the Aircall Professional plan. | Upgrade in Aircall, or send from the Aircall app. |
| A send says the line is not registered | Aircall has not approved the US registration yet. | Finish the A2P 10DLC or toll-free registration in Aircall. |
| A send says the line reached its limit | Aircall meters how many texts a line sends. | Nothing. CommSync sends the text when the limit resets. |
| Live updates stopped | Someone deleted the CommSync webhook in Aircall. | Nothing. CommSync makes a new one on its own within a few minutes. |
To stop the connection, remove the account from its card in Settings → Phone numbers. CommSync turns its own Aircall webhook off and, for a Sign in with Aircall connection, turns the CommSync app off in Aircall. Your past conversations stay in CommSync. An Aircall Admin can also remove the CommSync app in Aircall. The account card in CommSync then asks for a new sign-in.
