iPhone app

The CommSync app for iPhone uses the same account as the web app. Your inbox, contacts, teams, Daily Brief, and Ask are the same on both. A change you make on one shows on the other.

The app is for the work you do during the day: read, reply, file, and approve. Some setup work stays on the web. The app runs on iPhone only. It has no iPad layout.

What the app has

The app has five tabs:

Tab	What it holds
Inbox	Your conversations, the folders, filters, search, and drafts. The tab badge counts unread conversations.
Home	The Daily Brief, your numbers, today's meetings, the lists of who waits on whom, your drafts, and your to-dos. See Home.
AI	Today's Daily Brief, past briefs, and Ask. Also your agents, when you can use them.
People	Your contacts and your teams.
Settings	Your account, your workspace, your channels, notifications, and the app choices below.

In a conversation you can reply, reply all, forward, schedule a send, and ask for a read receipt. You can also use labels, notes, team comments, share links, snooze, mute, and the writing tools of CommSync AI. You can connect an email account or a phone number from Settings → Channels.

Swipe actions

Swipe a conversation in the inbox to act on it. Drag the row past the halfway mark, then let go.

• Swipe right archives the conversation.
• Swipe left deletes it. Trash keeps a conversation for 30 days, and the notice offers Undo.

To change the action of each swipe, open Settings → Swipe actions. Choose one action for each side: Archive, Delete, Snooze, Read, Mute, or Nothing. The choice belongs to this iPhone only. It does not change the web app or another device.

Touch and hold a conversation for every other action, such as labels, move, share, and comments.

Notifications on the lock screen

The app asks once whether it can send notifications, after your inbox first loads. The events, the preview level, and quiet hours are the same choices as on the web. See Notifications.

Act from the lock screen

Touch and hold a notification about a new message to act on it from the lock screen:

• Reply sends a reply from the notification. An email reply gets your signature.
• If a reply fails, a new notification keeps your text. A tap on it opens the conversation.
• Mark Read marks the conversation as read.
• Archive archives the conversation.
• Snooze for 1 Hour hides the conversation and brings it back in one hour.

Reply does not show for a group text. With Message text, the expanded notification also shows the newest messages of the conversation and a short summary.

Copy a one-time code

When a notification carries a one-time code, touch and hold it. The first button reads Copy and the code, for example Copy 482913. It copies the code and does not open the app. The code shows only when your preview level is Message text.

Inside the app, a message with a code shows a chip. A tap copies the code.

Agent approvals

When an agent drafts a reply for your approval, the notification opens that draft in the app. There is no Approve button on the lock screen. You read the draft before it goes out.

The AI tab shows two views, Brief and Agents, when your workspace has an agent and you can use agents. The Agents view shows the count of what waits.

• The approval queue shows each draft that waits for a person. Owners and admins see it.
• A draft shows what the contact wrote and the reply of the agent.
• You can edit the reply. Then tap Approve & Send or Reject.
• After an edit, the send button reads Send Edited Reply.
• A handover shows why the agent stepped back. Tap Reply Yourself or Dismiss.
• One agent: turn it on or off, and change its mode and its instructions.
• The page of an agent also shows its figures for the week and its activity.
• Take over a conversation from an agent inside the conversation. Hand it back later. Every member can do this.

You create and set up agents on the web. That includes the persona, the lines, knowledge, tools, and the safety level. See Agents.

The privacy screen

The app switcher shows a picture of each open app. CommSync covers its picture with a plain screen that shows the CommSync name, so the app switcher shows no name and no message.

The cover is on by default. To turn it off, open Settings → Privacy and turn off Privacy screen.

Learn CommSync

Learn CommSync is a deck of ten short guides. Each guide shows a real part of the app with sample data. The last step of setup shows the four essential guides. To open the whole deck, tap Settings → Learn CommSync. It opens on the next guide you have not seen. A tip in the app can also open the guide that fits the screen you are on.

Plans and billing

The app sells personal plans through the App Store. You pay with your Apple account. See Personal plans from the iPhone app.

The app does not sell team plans, seats, AI credits, or storage. For a team workspace, CommSync emails the owner a link to a plan page on the web. See Team plans from the iPhone app.

You can delete your account in the app. In Settings, tap your profile, then tap Delete account.

What stays on the web

Use CommSync on the web for these things:

• Agent setup: create an agent, and edit its persona, lines, knowledge, tools, and safety level.
• Team billing: team plans, seats, AI credits, and storage.
• Integrations: Connect AI apps, webhooks, and MCP connections.
• Storage: the storage page and the history import for an account that already synced.
• Some smart assists: the caution strip, one-tap replies, file types, composer hints, and suggested lines and teams. See Smart assists.
• The composer: dictation, and a signature with formatting.
• Labels: rename or delete a label. You can create and assign labels in the app.
• Act as a teammate: start a session on the web. The app can end a session that acts for you.
• Notifications: the Your devices list and the test notification.
• Desktop tools: the command palette, keyboard shortcuts, and Focus reply.
• Presence: the app does not show which teammates are online.
