For Cursor users

Cursor works your inbox. Your lines only.

Connect Cursor to CommSync with one URL. It reads, searches, drafts, and sends texts and email on the lines you allow, and it never sees your password.

  1. Step 1

Use Add to Cursor on the Connect AI apps page, or add the entry below to ~/.cursor/mcp.json.

  2. Step 2

In the Cursor settings, under MCP, select Connect next to commsync.

  3. Step 3

    Sign in and allow access.

~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "commsync": { "url": "https://server.commsync.ai/api/mcp" }

What Cursor can do

Everything you can do in CommSync, Cursor can do too.

The MCP server exposes the same services the CommSync app uses, from a search to building a whole agent. Cursor picks the tool; CommSync keeps it inside your lines.

223 tools in 27 sections. The same ones the CommSync app uses.

  • merge_contacts

Things people ask Cursor
  • Pull the last message from each open lead into a table.
  • Write the webhook handler for message.received, then register the endpoint.
  • Send the release note to the Crew dispatch group as a text.
  • Add a goal to the Scheduling agent: every booking names a date.
  • Read and search

Threads, contacts, files, and smart cards, with search by meaning over mail, texts, and scanned attachments.

  • Send as you

Replies and new texts or email from your lines. A send to an outside person is marked as such, so Cursor asks before it sends.

  • Build an agent

96 tools cover agents: draft one from a description, give it knowledge and tools, write tests, read its analysis, and approve its drafts.

Made for Cursor

Every project, the same inbox.

One line in a JSON file connects Cursor. Put it in your home folder for every project, or in a project folder for that project only.

  • One file

~/.cursor/mcp.json connects every project. A .cursor/mcp.json inside a project connects that project only, so a client workspace keeps its own lines.

  • Add to Cursor

The Connect AI apps page in CommSync has an Add to Cursor button that writes the entry for you.

  • The agent writes the handler

Ask the agent for the webhook handler for message.received. It writes the code, then registers the endpoint with register_webhook.

Your lines only

You choose the lines. CommSync holds the rest back.

On the consent screen you pick what Cursor can reach. A scoped app sees only the threads on its lines, and CommSync refuses a send from any other line.

  • No password

Cursor never receives your password or an API key. It gets a token that lasts an hour and renews in the background.

  • Named apps

Cursor runs on your computer, so the consent screen marks it as an app on this device and asks you to continue only if you just added CommSync yourself.

  • Disconnect

Disconnect in Settings → Connect AI apps. The app stops at once, on every device. Change its lines without a new sign-in.

Start inside Cursor

No account yet? Start from Cursor.

When Cursor opens CommSync and you have no account, one visit does all of it. CommSync keeps the request open for up to 2 hours while you set up.

  1. Step 1

Select Create an account, and enter your name, email address, and password.

  2. Step 2

Enter the 6-digit code from the email, or use the button in it.

  3. Step 3

Choose Just me or a team, then connect an email address or a phone number. The 7-day trial starts, with no card.

  4. Step 4

CommSync takes you back to the consent screen. Select Allow access, and you are back in Cursor.

Questions

What Cursor gets, and what it does not.

Short answers for Cursor users.

Does Cursor get my password?
No. You sign in on the CommSync page. Cursor gets a token for your lines, CommSync stores only a hash of it, and a token that leaks is signed out when an old copy appears.
Can it send messages?
Yes, from the lines you allow. Tools such as send_sms and send_email are marked as sends, so Cursor asks before it sends to an outside person.
What is the server URL?
https://server.commsync.ai/api/mcp, for every app. Settings → Connect AI apps shows it with a copy button and a guide for each app.
Where is CommSync listed?
CommSync is in the official MCP Registry as ai.commsync/commsync, on Smithery, and on Glama. Any app that takes a remote MCP server URL can connect.
